You Humble me. and I Know what You Mean. I will be shortly getting a Right Hip Replacement as the Original One lasted 22-1/2 Years, so I guess I can't complain. My Back has been Raising Hell lately, and come to find out the reason was because of my Artificial Hip socket is worn better than 2 Centimeters. They will have to graft in Bone into The Pelvic region when they replace the Hip Joint, so I suspect that will Ground me for at least a few weeks...H.D.

Thanks for the Kind words. I was Pleased Mostly with the refurbished results, But I was not Pleased with the Piece I had to splice into the Lower back strap of the Left grip panel. I Guess Walnut from the Early 1950's is much Lighter in Color than Walnut from the Mid 1970's as a Good Left panel I had Perished to the repair of these grips, But the Grain Color was more of a Red Tone more so than the Brown Hue of the Earlier Walnut. The repairs were made strong so I know Jim will be able to use these as well as Look at them. I am Pleased that you Like them Jim, They left today to make their Way Back up The North Eastern Sea-Board.. .H.D.

Thanks so Much for sharing the Pictures during your Monsoon weather ! That gun is a real sweetheart and you should be proud of it. I enjoyed revamping a Little life back into those grips and what I Like most about the finish I use on that time period is that it gives Great Grain depth, but does not shine more than the Original Semi-Gloss lacquer used in that time span. Sadly, You can Not get Lacquer worth a Hoot anymore as the Fed. Reg's' required to elimination of Key-tones and acetone contained within it, which in turn made a product user friendly but not very durable. I hate to see any wood grips left a mess, or show the Ravages of time, so it was my Pleasure refinishing yours and I did it in such a way, that you your self can still see the slight scars I was not able to remove. I used extra care on them, not wanting to remove hardly any wood material to upset fit or quality, and that takes Pain staking care when sanding out Damage. The Only distraction I saw was that I was Not able to match the wood grain and color on that Lower left grip heel. I searched all my Older wood Pile grips and had Nothing to use for fit and finish other than the Perfect panel I harvested the Piece out of to repair your missing piece, and I was not able to Match the Vintage Color of the original Walnut S&W used, as the Newer Walnut they used appears to have More of a Redish Cast to it. When I refinished Ralph's Coke Grips, I was able to make his Match about perfect due to their material being of Gancalo-Alves, I had some very close to what Ralph's were in color and grain, But the Older Walnut is very difficult to Match...
